- A serious passing game weapon out of the backfield, with 6707 receiving yards in just 15 games
- Enters the NFL fresh, with just 275 touches in two seasons at Arizona State

- Not explosive – glides rather than bursts through the line of scrimmage
- Very linear run style with a high pad level
- Upright posture means he fails to win the leverage battle through contact
- Won’t run through tacklers – you wouldn’t consider him a ‘finisher’
- Lean lower half that limits his power and rarely comes through leg tackles still on his feet
The Verdict:
“The word ‘graceful’ isn’t often synonymous with the NFL, but Rachaad White has a playing style that is smooth and effortless. He rarely looks like he breaks a sweat! In terms of a role in the NFL, White will without doubt be considered an asset in the passing game; not many other running backs in this class have the resume as a receiver that he does. Whether or not that’s the ceiling for White largely depends on him; as a taller ball carrier his utilisation between the tackles will improve if he can keep his pad level down and build up some lower body strength that allows him to play tough when necessary. Without that he’ll find yards much harder to come by than the 6.3 ypc he was averaging in Tempe. At the very least, White is a third down, versatile threat at the next level.”
