Pro's:
Well built, dense, broad frame
Elite anchor; once he sets his feet, there’s no moving him off his spot
Power transfers right through his frame and though his arms
Explodes off the LOS in a low stance and drives up into the defender, blowing them off the ball
Ultra aggressive; a tone setter who constantly looks for work and wants to embarrass opponents
Strong hands with a vice-like grip – extremely difficult for run stuffers to shed
Impressive athleticism for such a big bodied lineman – an asset pulling and getting downfield
Plenty of lateral agility to get good depth on his pass sets
Change of direction speed to intercept any interior pass rush moves
Positional versatility, having played both guard and tackle spots at Texas A&M
Con's:
Hands can fall off blocks – intermittent evidence of poor placement
Grabby when he feels a play getting away from him – will be a target for flags in the NFL
Has been confused by stunting edge rushers hooking round his perceived block
The Verdict:
“I’m not sure there’s a more complete guard heading into this draft than Kenyon Green. Sure; interior linemen with experience at center may go ahead of him, but as a prospect ready to line up purely at LG or RG, none come more day one-ready than this guy. Phenomenal size and speed, with the tenacity and smarts to match, Green was a versatile and reliable leader on this Aggies offensive line. A true road grader at the point of contact who isn’t afraid to employ the dark arts of blocking when necessary, Green displays surprising nuance and fluidity as a pass protector. He’s a high floor prospect with as little risk as you can ask for and will hear his name called before the first night is done.”
