Pro's:

  • Experienced center with three years leading one of the best college o-lines in the nation
  • Competing is part of his DNA: no excuses, just get the job done
  • A real athlete; rare lateral mobility, comfortable in space and loves to block on the move
  • Takes advantageous angles on zone blocks, driving at a defenders hip and opening lanes
  • Excellent hand technique at the point of contact, demonstrating good timing, placement and ability to reset and re-fire
  • Dancing feet; quick to find his set point and alert to counters or redirection from rushers
  • Squares up to the bull rush, sinks his hips and displays better torque than anticipated
  • Positional sense in space is superb. Patient, keeps himself square, and waits for engagement
  • Took snaps as a long snapper at Boston College

Con's:

  • Undersized. Piled on the pounds during his time at Chestnut Hill, but still gives ground physically
  • Modest power throughout his core, disguised by his attention to technique and timing
  • Doesn’t have the leg drive to bulldoze opponents off the ball in gap or power concepts
  • Some waist bend sees him enter contact losing the leverage battle
  • Ducks his head into contact
  • Hasn’t played any other o-line position since high school – strictly a center only prospect

The Verdict:

“Alec Lindstrom hails from a football background; his dad was his high school coach and a Boston College legend, and his brother Chris was a first round draft pick in 2019 for the Atlanta Falcons. Football courses through his veins and it’s evident in his 100% work ethic and willingness to do anything for his team. A high-character prospect, it’s unsurprising to see Lindstrom maximise his capabilities, although i’d argue it’s slightly unfair to call him an overachiever - as a sub-300lb lineman life isn’t going to be easy, but Lindstrom’s dedication to his technique has certainly compensated for any power he gives away. Lindstrom will likely have to find a home in a zone blocking scheme where his agility and nous become weapons, and this lack of versatility will hurt his draft stock. But don’t be surprised if he forces his way into a starting role - this is a kid who didn’t give up a single sack his final year at Boston College.”
