“Make no mistake about it, Stetson Bennett’s story is fit for Hollywood. A man who refused to accept he wasn’t good enough for the school he dreamed of representing, and in the end took them to the promised land not once but twice. And I like an underdog story probably more than the next guy, but it’s tough to envision Bennett making anything like that kind of impact at the next level. This is a guy who weighed in ten pounds less than Bryce Young at the Combine, and has nowhere near the same upside. Bennett has maximised his game, which at 25 years old shouldn’t be a surprise. What it means is that there is little room for growth. He’ll impress coaches with his dedication and football smarts, so may hang around in the league as a backup or scout team QB longer than you’d expect.”
