2022 NFL DRAFT PROSPECT REPORT

Film Watched: Stanford 2021, California 2021

Pro's:

  • Monster tight end with elite measurables
  • Former basketball player, displayed with his aerial ability and quickness in short areas
  • Sure handed – rips the ball out of the sky and gets it into his body quickly
  • Love his ability to track the football in the air
  • Quick to uncover from blocking duty to passing outlet when necessary
  • Tough in the trenches, with a committed mindset to run blocking and pass protection
  • Quicker rather than fast, but has the agility to get separation on short & intermediate routes

Con's:

  • Poor lower body torque for such a big prospect – moved off the point of attack too easy
  • Wins blocks with aggression over technique; inconsistent footwork, weight distribution and hands
  • Average long speed – will likely find it tougher on vertical routes at the next level
  • Uncomfortable blocking on the move; seems awkward looking for work
  • Little in the way of yardage after the catch
  • Modest production at college, with just 40 catches and 500 yards in four years at Oregon State

The Verdict:

“Teagan Quitoriano certainly passes the eyeball test as an NFL tight end, with the requisite size and length to be a factor at the position. And there is plenty of evidence on tape of a skillset that is transferable to the next level; good hands, shiftiness, excellent in the air, and an alpha-dog demeanour. But as of yet, he remains more of a work in progress as there are areas that have failed to be developed. For all the effort in run blocking, his erratic technique makes him easily manipulated. In pass protection - particularly on the move - he looks unsure of his responsibility. And with the ball in hand, his limited speed will see any hint of deep field production evaporate with the step up in competition. Quitoriano is far from a lost cause, and if he can match his effort with effectiveness and be a contributor on special teams. it should allow him to make the bottom of a roster somewhere.”
