- Raw. Still learning the position and is reliant upon his physical and athletic advantages
- Lower body strength a question mark; very tall and lean
- Lack of burst off the line, and sluggish into his route
- Still working on route running and getting separation
- A few bobbles on tape, but hands have been an area of improvement his one year in Charlottesville
- Poor hand placement in pass pro negates his length advantage

“Already considered a draft sleeper, Jelani Woods shone at the NFL Combine and will likely be rising up draft boards until the end of April. His unique size and length are appealing, and when you look at the tape he appears to have hit the ground running at his new position. Perceived misgivings about his game likely stem from the lack of time playing tight end, and with further coaching and dedication to the fundamentals he’ll only improve as a pass catcher, route runner and blocker. Woods looks every bit the ‘move TE’ where a creative offensive coordinator can employ him in different roles to create mismatches, and with plenty of untapped potential he’s a high ceiling prospect that has worked his way into the day two conversation.”
