- Lack of length will inhibit his ability to high point the football
- Short arms might dilute his press effectiveness at the next level
- Sufficient speed & agility, but maybe not in the same stratosphere as the elite CB’s in this class
The Verdict:
“Feisty and competitive with a junk-yard dog mentality, Roger McCreary is a fun eval. The former Auburn standout had a phenomenal career on The Plains, predominantly operating as a press corner where he could get up in a receiver’s business all the way through the rep. McCreary might have a small frame but it’s packed full of play strength, and he’s shown a consistent ability to delay an opponent's release into their route stems. That physicality is matched at the catch point - where his catch disruption was very effective - but also as a stand-up tackler too, even against bigger receivers. McCreary doesn’t have the size or length that a lot of teams crave in today’s game, and some might project him more as a slot corner. But I also think there’s CB2 upside here, and he won’t be waiting around too long on day two to hear his name called.”
