- Competent pass catcher but lack of usage in college; just 22 receptions in 2021
- Skinny lower half brings power/durability concerns at the next level
- Can cut at speed, but sharp breaks on routes or changes in direction are a little sluggish
- Sometimes gets caught looking for the big play and loses yardage rather than taking what’s there
- Dubious anchor in pass protection; can chip, delay, but stonewalling a blitzer is a big ask

“After displaying his outstanding athletic ability at the Shrine Bowl recently, Pierre Strong doubled down on that performance with a virtuoso display at the NFL Combine. Scouts clamouring to turn on his tape will like what they see; a decisive, determined runner with elite quicks, Strong was dominant for the Jackrabbits, racking up nearly 5,000 yards and 40 TD’s on the ground in Brookings. Strong projects to be an insistent change of pace back at the next level, a guy who offers a defense no respite when the RB1 has a breather. Unproven in some regard as a pass catcher, his usefulness on third down is as yet unknown, but there’s potential for special teams duties too. Considering his ascendency up draft boards, I’d be surprised if he wasn’t drafted somewhere early on day three.”
