“EJ Perry has thrust himself into the spotlight and forced scouts to acknowledge him during this pre-draft process. Winning MVP at the Shrine Bowl, before recording elite athletic measurables at the combine, Perry might just be the kind of QB that appeals to offensive coordinators who think outside the box. Similar in size, speed and diverse skillset, the comparisons with Taysom Hill are understandable, but Perry seems set on a much more orthodox, QB-only role at the next level. He’s done enough to be a late-round draft pick, but his true test will be in training camp when he goes up against NFL calibre opponents and where his propensity for a pick will be magnified. My guess is he’s a practice squad QB for a team that faces multiple mobile quarterbacks on their schedule, but the ceiling is much higher.”
