- Still learning to utilise length to disrupt routes early in press
- A little too eager to make the play and there are whiffs on tape
- Needs to turn tips into picks more – just two interceptions in his college career
- Likes to break late to the football, goading the pass. Might get caught out at the next level
The Verdict:
“How Washington conceded any passing touchdowns with Gordon and McDuffie manning the outside is beyond me. Kyler Gordon might not have the wow factor that McDuffie possesses, but could prove to be a more popular option for some teams looking for that perfect blend of size, speed and skills. Gordon has it all - the length and strength to compete physically, and the speed and agility to be in the right place at the right time. Gordon may suffer from a little over-confidence at times; he trusts himself to make a big play in every scenario, and there are moments where he’s given up unnecessary yards. But they feel like growing pains to me; Gordon has the current skillset to be a starting nickel corner in the NFL, and it won’t be long before he commands outside duties and locking down one side of the field.”
