2022 NFL DRAFT PROSPECT REPORT

Kyle Hamilton

Pro's:

  • Freakish build for the safety position, and room to get even bigger
  • Very rangy in run support and is a sure tackler
  • When coming downhill he can bring a BOOM
  • Built to be a true TE eraser, and the tools to be all-time great at it
  • Has the ability to be a real chess piece in any scheme – Single high, SlCB, Outside CB, LB, blitzer off the edge – he can literally do it all.
  • 8 INT’s in less than 3 year’s worth of games
  • About as rangey in coverage as they come – legit sideline to sideline cover ability

Con's:

  • Would likely have trouble covering NFL slot receivers one on one
  • Went only 4.59 at the combine (He was running side to side, however – on-field speed seems much better)
  • Could use the rest of his frame to add on more strength
  • Can attack tackles too high due to his height
  • An injury shortened his 2021 season

The Verdict:

“Kyle Hamilton is a generational safety prospect. He has the ability to play every possible role imaginable, and would best be used as a chess piece for a defense. If the team that drafts Hamilton is creative in the way they deploy him, he could be a one man game changer in the NFL. His blend of size and range makes it fairly easy to project him to the next level. If we’re being honest, there are no real holes in Hamilton’s game. His height will make it tough for him to match small slot receivers, sure, but that is about it. Hamilton is a guy that every single team should covet, because players of his mold and caliber only come around once in a lifetime.”
