2022 NFL DRAFT PROSPECT REPORT

Film Watched: Alabama 2021, Clemson 2021, Cincinnati 2020

Pro's:

  • A big dude with all the girth and length you look for in an NFL offensive lineman
  • Extremely versatile; played all five positions on the line during his time at Georgia
  • Vicious upper body strength, with arms like tree trunks that positively abuse defenders
  • Able to maintain elite strength with full extension – opponents struggle to get inside him
  • Stonewalls bullrushers with a stout anchor. Just digs his heels in and denies them access
  • Significant mobility for a man his size. Had success reaching the corner at right tackle
  • Able to cheat a little to the outside against rushers who cannot navigate his frame with a counter

Con's:

  • Stiff hipped. Speed rushers who can avoid his reach can leave him flat footed with combo moves
  • Doesn’t have the redirection speed to mirror spin moves or adjust to stunts or twists
  • Bends at the waist – lack of leverage at the point of contact detracts from his power advantage
  • Needs to be more consistent finding the defender pads – arms on shoulders too often
  • Grabby when blocks start to slide and could get more referee attention in the NFL

The Verdict:

“Jamaree Salyer has all the instincts you look for in an offensive linemen, highlighted by his history playing at any spot on the line Georgia needed him for. Something of a natural when it comes to reading angles in pass pro, his size can make it difficult for him to reach the corner before the rusher does. His superior length and strength at full extension gets him out of jail, but a permanent role on the interior is still his likely home at the next level. A spot at guard comes with some question marks too though - can he play with the consistent leverage to dominate against the run? As a player that brings elite measurables and knowledge of every spot, Salyer should sneak into the bottom of day two - and with more focus at one position has every opportunity of carving out a starting role by year two or three.”
