2022 NFL DRAFT PROSPECT REPORT

Pro's:

  • Elite size and length in the wide receiver position, will transition very nicely into the NFL
  • Throughout the past year London has made college football like men versus boys.
  • Insistent, physical run style weas down defenses – Walker gets stronger as games progress
  • Often used on deep routes and has a good knack of getting separation downfield.
  • Has exceptional speed but doesn’t just rely on this, will extend his arms. One of the best, if not the best at winning contested deep balls.
  • Has exceptional burst of speed and paired with his excellent footballing IQ he will often find space that he can exploit.
  • London’s height at 6’5 makes him a visible target for quarterbacks especially as he has good hands and can secure the ball very well in traffic.
  • More than a capable blocker in the ground game, his frame and strength make him a good downfield blocker and will happily take on his man.
  • Very agile and has a very good change of direction, especially for a guy at 6’5. Makes very good cuts with ease.

Con's:

  • London’s speed is good, but he doesn’t have straight-line speed that will leave defenders in his shadow.
  • The recent injury will be an area of concern, scouts will be wondering about the potential long-term effects from ankle surgery.
  • At times London can come out of the snap high and upright which prevents him hitting his peak speed, limiting playmaking at times.

The Verdict:

“A four star recruit out of high school who made an instant impact for the USC Trojans with over 500 yards in the air and 5 scores, again in a shortened season in London’s sophomore year had seen him put up over 500 yards for 3 scores. Going into this past season it’s pretty safe to assume that Drake London was one of the Nation’s top talents at the receiver position, many had him as their WR1 in this class until his ankle injury. Even in a season which ended on Halloween, London amassed over 1000 receiving yards and tapped into the end zone 7 times. An impressive collegiate career had seen London receive Second-Team All-Pac 12 honours in 2020. In 2021 he took all of the plaudits even after an injury ending season London received Associated Press Third-Team All-American and First-Team Pac-12 honours, he was also named as the Pac-12 Offensive Player of the Year – not bad for a guy that hasn’t played since October”
