2022 NFL DRAFT PROSPECT REPORT

Wyatt_Devonte_2021

Pro's:

  • Moves like a 260 pound man – in a 304 pound body
  • Insane eurostep like pass rush move – put Darian Kinnard in a blender with it
  • Lightning twitch to get off the ball
  • When he can’t get home on a pass rush, does a great job of getting a hand up to bat passes
  • Lethal one gap penetrator
  • Proved and exceeded his explosiveness expectations at the combine

Con's:

  • Overshadowed by his teammate – not due to play, but because his teammate is the size of a bus
  • Doesn’t possess a super powerful first punch – makes up for it with speed and his hand placement
  • Never had insane production rushing the passer – Likely due to UGA’s insane DL depth

The Verdict:

“Devonte Wyatt is an incredibly skilled and explosive iDL, with potential to be a dominant 3T on the next level. Wyatt’s name was overlooked all throughout the season because he was playing next to a human the size of an apartment building. Wyatt actually proved to be more productive than Davis, but people didn’t seem to care. Luckily for Wyatt, the people came around and he is DT1 on a lot of boards, including mine. His burst off the line, straight line speed, and lateral agility is nearly unmatched in this class”
