2022 NFL DRAFT PROSPECT REPORT

DeMarvin-Leal260x360

Pro's:

  • Inside out versatility – Played mainly on the EDGE for the Aggies
  • Insanely great get off – at times
  • Uses a multitude of pass rush moves
  • Always comes off the line knowing what move he’s going to attempt

Con's:

  • Doesn’t possess the explosiveness to win the EDGE
  • Doesn’t possess the power to consistently win on the interior
  • Big drop off from Sophomore to Junior year.
  • Gets too far up the field when left unblocked
  • Consistently manhandled by Charles Cross
  • Gets abused by double teams
  • Pad level gets too high when fatigued

The Verdict:

“DeMarvin Leal came into the season with a ton of 1st round buzz. This buzz fell off more and more throughout the season, and now you will almost never see his name mentioned in first round mock drafts. Finding a position to play Leal in will be a tough task for whatever team decides to take him. He lacks the explosion to play the edge, and lacks the pop in his hands to win on the interior. However, there was a lot of good things scouts saw throughout his career, so all the talent is there, it’s just up to his next team to get it all out.”
