- Showcased his incredible burst of speed at the Reese’s Senior Bowl as he recorded the fastest GPS speed of any offensive prospect.
- Austin III has an incredible ability to combine his speed with good calculated and refined route running.
- In the Senior Bowl; he showcased NFL-esque slot routes – something we rarely saw during his time in Memphis.
- Instant ability to put on the burners and an excellent change of direction ability make him a constant threat.
- Has an exceptional ability to gain yards after the catch, moves up another gear once he’s in the open field and will rarely be caught.
- Demonstrated huge improvement. He pretty much went from a walk-on receiver to an NFL ready receiver within the space of two year.
- Does a good job locating and tracking deep balls, willing to go up and attack the ball.
- Not only does he have excellent hands but he has soft hands that an NFL Quarterback will love to target.

Con's:
- A glaringly obvious concern will be Austin III’s height as he stands at 5’9 and weighs just over 160lbs, NFL defenders will be able to bully him throughout the route.
- He has short arms which will limit his catch radius and opportunities.
- Extra weight will need to be added otherwise he will become somewhat of a liability when taking the big hits, which he will do in the NFL.
The Verdict:
“An unranked recruit out of high school. It’s safe to say that it took Austin III a little while to get going as he was used sparingly in the first two years in Michigan, targeted just 19 times. In the past two years however he has established himself as the Tigers main playmaker, 137 targets across this span for 2,202 yards and 19 scores in the end zone. Over the past two years he has established himself as one of the top wide receiver prospects in the class. Could he be the next Tyreek Hill? Just like Hill, he is a small receiver with olympic level speed and is a calculated route runner.”
