2022 NFL DRAFT PROSPECT REPORT

Skyy Moore

Film Watched: Pitt 2021, Michigan 2021, Kent State 2021

Pro's:

  • Creative, productive receiver with 2,500 yards and 17 TD’s in three years at Kalamazoo
  • Worked from a variety of alignments with a full route tree at Western Michigan
  • Natural, reliable hands, and will catch balls outside of his frame as easy as if it was on the numbers
  • Phenomenal tracker of the football, particularly over the shoulder
  • Agile through his route tree, finding easy separation at the top of the route with sudden breaks
  • Fearless working into imminent contact, with a keen focus on ball security as he takes the hit
  • Demonstrates good physicality with the ball in his hands, bouncing off tackles for extra yards
  • Love his commitment and determination at a congested catch point; 50-50 balls seem more like 80-20
  • Determined and capable blocker

Con's:

  • Raw. Converted to receiver his first year on campus after playing QB/DB at high school
  • Good quicks, but deep speed won’t trouble defensive backs vertically
  • Agile but doesn’t have the acceleration to race away from contact with the ball
  • Slightly undersized as a receiver and may be consigned to slot duties
  • Little special teams experience

The Verdict:

“Is Skyy Moore only just beginning to tap into his potential? As a latecomer to the wide receiver position, Moore shined as a dynamic, dangerous pass catching weapon for The Broncos, creating a productive partnership with fellow draft prospect Kaleb Eleby at Western Michigan. Moore’s size and lack of straight line speed does suggest a better projection as a slot receiver in the NFL, and whilst I think that’s where he will thrive at the next level he has the personality to be used outside the numbers too. There are too many catches on his resume where he won’t be denied, and as a ‘snatch and grab’ artist brings a lot to the table. As he develops his release and refines his route running further, Moore should become even more productive, particularly where he isn’t the sole focus of attention. He could be a day one starter.”
