2022 NFL DRAFT PROSPECT REPORT

ANdrew Booth

Pro's:

  • Booth Jr. is blessed with the best feet in this year’s cornerback draft class.
  • He may not be the tallest corner you’ll see, however his 32’’ arms enable him to play much bigger than his size.
  • A threat on contested catches due to previous experience playing as a receiver. This is evident as he has excellent ball skills, tracking abilities and strong hands.
  • Booth’s catching ability often makes Quarterbacks look the other way.
  • Has a great ability to read the Quarterback’s eyes and has great awareness, one of the reasons he is regarded as one of the top corners in the class.
  • Athleticism is the most impressive part of his game – extremely fast, fluid mover and has a lot of energy.
  • His impressive long speed allows him to stay with his man downfield, also has exceptional short speed.
  • A loose hipped, quick footed cornerback who has an elite change of direction.
  • Impressive highlight reel as you’ll often see him with pass break ups and interceptions, doesn’t shy away from the big moments.

Con's:

  • Booth at times can look to rely too much on his athleticism rather than his football IQ, admittedly this has got better in the past year.
  • His aggressive and physical style of play can often get the better of him.
  • He needs to improve his tackling, can mis-time tackles and give up big plays. For instance Booth Jr. was targeted 46 times and he gave up 29 catches for over 300 yards.

The Verdict:

“A five star recruit out of high school and the second ranked cornerback in the Nation had seen Booth Jr. receive a lot of collegiate interest from the ‘Power five’ as he committed to Clemson before the start of his high school senior year. Booth Jr. struggled to make an impact in his freshman year as he featured on just 65 snaps in a year where he played understudy to A.J. Terrell. In his sophomore season he had seen a much bigger increase in productivity as he played 335 snaps and racked up 27 tackles, 3.0 tackles for a loss, 2 interceptions, a sack and a fumble recovery returned to the house. This led to Booth receiving second-team All-ACC honors. This past season has seen Booth Jr. make a case for himself to be a 1st round draft pick. An impressive season had seen him amass 37 tackles, 3.0 tackles for a loss and an interception leading him to first-team All-ACC honors”
