Week 8 NFL Player Prop Bets

By Adam Martin

Week 7 brought even more drama as the NFL enters a critical phase of the season. We’re starting to learn more about the trajectories of all 32 teams, which can only help us as we look at some player prop bets ahead of Week 8.

As always, these prop bets are for entertainment only, and please gamble responsibly. All the odds below are from our friends at 888 Sport:

Baltimore Ravens @ Arizona Cardinals

Mark Andrews anytime TD scorer @ EVS

We had Mark Andrews last week to score against the Detroit Lions and he had his best game of the season. We are going back to the well for another drink as Andrews looks to be getting his season going.

The Ravens are going up against a Cardinals team that is ranked 28th in the NFL, when it comes to the number of yards given up to the opposition. Chances are if you give up that many yards, you will give up plenty of Touchdowns. The Ravens are 9.5-point favourites and so Lamar Jackson’s number one target is who you want to back for a touchdown.

The Cardinals have improved against the tight end position this year, but it is still an area of weakness. When going up against a combination of Jackson and Andrews it will be tough to control and so the even money shot looks a good bet.

New York Jets @ New York Giants

Darren Waller over 4.5 receptions @ 6/5

Darren Waller had a tough start to the season in New York, but it feels like things are changing now. In his first four games he only had three receptions in three of the four games. However, in the last three games he has had eight, five and seven receptions respectively.

He is going up against one of the better defences in the Jets, but he has been a vital component in this Giants offence since Daniel Jones got injured. Jones is missing again this week and his replacement, Tyrod Taylor, clearly values his tight end.

At a price of 6/5 you must be looking at Waller to get the over given Taylor’s reliance on him.

Breece Hall anytime TD @ EVS

In the same game as the Darren Waller receptions bet, Breece Hall to score anytime looks a good bet. The Giants have struggled all season to stop rushing TD’s from happening. They currently are ranked 30th in the NFL and it doesn’t look like it will change anytime soon.

The Jets have struggled to put points on the board this season with Zack Wilson at QB after Aaron Rodgers injury.  However, one area that they still have a top-quality player is at running back. Breece Hall has had a slow start to the season, but he is looking great now.

This matchup is ideal for Hall who will be able to show what he really can do against a defence that can’t stop the run.

Los Angeles Rams @ Dallas Cowboys

Jake Ferguson over 3.5 receptions @ 6/5

Another reception bet that I like the look of in this weekends slate is Jake Ferguson to get over 3.5 receptions. Ferguson has been a solid, reliable receiver for Dak Prescott so far this season. Although Dallas like to run the ball a lot they will pass as well, and Ferguson should do well this week.

The main reason to have confidence in Ferguson is that he has a favourable matchup against the Rams. Currently the Rams are ranked 23rd against tight ends but are better against wide receivers. If the stats are right, they should be able to cut off the receiver option for Dak and then end up leaving the shorter passes to Ferguson.

At 6/5 Ferguson is a decent price for a low number of receptions in a matchup that should suit him.
