Fantasy Football Must Starts Week 14
By James Collier
We’ve made it to Week 14 and what is in most leagues, the final week of the regular season of fantasy football. So it’s simply perfect timing that SIX teams are on a bye again this week.
If you’re looking to secure a first round bye or are facing a “win and in” matchup this week then read on for our final Must Starts of the 2024 fantasy regular season.
Justin Herbert @ Kansas City Chiefs
The chances are if Herbert is on your roster this week, you’re starting him. But he’s the ECR QB13, which suggests he’s just outside of Must Start territory, I disagree. I’d rather start Herbert over Russell Wilson, Brock Purdy, Tua Tagavailoa and if we’re being spicy, maybe even Kyler Murray.
Outside of an aberration against the Falcons last week where the offensive line takes most of the blame, the Chargers pass offense has been looking significantly better since their Week 5 bye. Herbert has been averaging almost 250 yards through the air in that span and has thrown just one interception all season. The only issue with Herbert in fantasy has been a lack of touchdowns.
The matchup with the Chiefs has historically been one of his favourites and also seems to come at a perfect time with them struggling to stop Bryce Young and Aidan O’Connell over the last couple of weeks. We may not be likely to see Herbert finish as the QB1 this week but he represents a solid floor for anyone wanting a reliable starter in a must win fantasy matchup.
And if, you’re looking for a streaming Tight End, you could probably do worse than Will Dissly (ECR Ranking TE12). No defense allows more yards to the position than the Chiefs.
Jakobi Meyers @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers (Lewis Wood)
We’re sticking in the AFC West for now with Lewis (@ff_pancake) and his selection of Jakobi Meyers, the consensus ranked WR12 for Week 14.
“Meyers is not a sexy name, so his season is going incredibly under the radar, especially due to the performance of a certain rookie tight end on his team. Since week 3, he’s averaged 15.8 PPG. Across the season, that would make him WR12. Playing the Bucs defense who allow the sixth highest PPG to WRs, in a game they’ll be playing from behind, Meyers is an absolute smash.”
Jakobi Meyers has 9 or more targets and 6 or more catches in 6 of his last 8 games, with a great matchup on tap this Sunday. pic.twitter.com/ZCni6a4jFm

Tony Pollard vs Jacksonville Jaguars (Tom Strachan)
Tom (@NFL_TStrack) closes us out with a running back with a tasty Week 14 matchup.
“The Jaguars can’t defend anything. They can’t defend the pass, ranking 32nd in pass defense DVOA and while they’re stronger against the run, they give up more fantasy points to RBs than WRs because teams can dictate the game script against them. The Jaguars have allowed the second-most fantasy points to the position with nine different RBs scoring 18 or more points against them. In total they average allow 1.23 RB touchdowns per game and the ninth-most rushing yards per game (133.2). Tony Pollard has only one top12 finish in his last four games, but the Titans have had tough games against the Chargers and Vikings in that stretch and against Washington in Week 13, the Commanders were up 21-0 by the end of the first quarter, taking the game away from the ground. With the Jaguars moving Trevor Lawrence to IR this game is unlikely to get out of hand and Pollard can get back into the top-12.” (ECR Rank RB11)
