Union Jack Classic Unveils Trophy Ahead Of Historic College Football Game At Wembley

By Simon Carroll

Yesterday the Union Jack Classic unveiled a one-of-a-kind trophy for the first ever college football game at Wembley Stadium on 19th September, with one of University of Kansas Jayhawks or Arizona State Sun Devils set to lift the trophy in the Big 12 Conference clash.

Designed by Franco Valobra of Valobra Master Jewelers, the Union Jack Classic trophy celebrates the meeting of American college football and one of the world’s most iconic cities. Inspired by London’s iconic landmark Tower Bridge, the trophy represents the event’s role in bringing one of America’s most celebrated sporting traditions to London.

Hand crafted and developed over the past nine months, the trophy is approximately 20 inches wide, 18 inches tall and weighs approximately 40+ pounds, the trophy is bold and ambitious, reflecting the Union Jack Classic’s pioneering approach to this event and celebrating college football’s touchdown in London this year.

The trophy will be engraved with the winner of each Union Jack Classic, standing as a lasting symbol of the competition, celebrating the connection between American college football and London on the international stage.

Union Jack Classic has a multi-year exclusive agreement with Wembley Stadium, with the event bringing one of America’s most popular sporting traditions in college football to the famous sporting venue.
Brian Dubiski, Co-Founder and CEO of Union Jack Classic said “From day one, our goal has been to create something that feels truly special for the teams, the fans and the future of college football in the UK. This trophy captures that vision. It’s inspired by one of London’s most iconic landmarks and represents the connection between two great sporting cultures. We can’t wait to see it lifted at Wembley as we celebrate what we know is the start of a new tradition.”

Fans can now secure their seats to the inaugural Union Jack Classic via Ticketmaster, with ticket general admission, premium seating and hospitality packages available. Further information can also be found on the Union Jack Classic website.
