- Lacking in top end speed, and can be run down by defenders
- Not scared of contact, but if wrapped up correctly YAC is a struggle
- Lacking elite power and physicality; not a candidate for short yardage or goal line touches
- Disappointing performances against the bigger programs at the college level
- Committed blocker but hand technique doesn’t match the anchor he brings
The Verdict:
“Not many running backs enter this draft with the resume that Sincere McCormick brings. A huge reason why the Roadrunners went 12-1 this past season, McCormick leaves San Antonio as one of the greatest playmakers in program history. A pleasing blend of vision, timing and anticipation, McCormick looks to maximise his yardage on every play with good technique and decision making. He brings that philosophy to contact too, bouncing off and absorbing hits for further gain, although the power and aggression doesn’t always have the consistency of the rest of his game. Noticeably quiet against power 5 opponents, it’s fair to ask how his play measures up at the next level. But as a three-down weapon with pass catching ability, he looks an ideal candidate to be half of a one-two backfield duo .”
