The Verdict:
“Anthony Richardson is going to be an early first round draft pick, of that I have no doubt. But it will be interesting to see which team takes the plunge on a quarterback who is far from a polished prospect and would likely be best served being mentored by a veteran placeholder as he acclimates to the NFL. That being said, for front offices who are happy to lean on projection over production, not many prospects have the ceiling that the former Gator possesses. The size, athleticism and arm are elite, and if he can work on the fundamentals and become more consistent in his ball placement then he will become a real difference maker at the next level. Patience will be key, but there are flashes on tape that suggest Richardson can put it all together. If he can be given a bespoke playbook and used in an impact role as a rookie that should minimise the growing pains.”
