“With all the attention on Abram Smith following the Senior Bowl, it’s easy to forget that Baylor has another ball carrier entering this draft worthy of an NFL roster spot. Trestan Ebner is your quintessential third-down back; highly versatile with unmatched receiver ability in this running back class. He has the required size and frame to be a durable change of pace rusher, and if he gets into the open field then the defense is in a world of trouble. Concern with Ebner’s tape will surround his reticence for contact despite his good size, as well as his ability to think outside the box when the play fails to develop as anticipated. But his mere presence on the field makes it harder for opponents to diagnose what’s coming, and throw in the special teams ability and you’ve got yourself an ideal contributor to your backfield.”
