- Built to absorb the punishment he puts himself through, with thick stout torso
- Has a few evasive moves to compliment his willingness for contact – bounces and spins on tape
- Has excellent straight line speed, and eats up open field in front of him quickly
- Productive, durable back at WVU, with back to back 1,000 yard rushing seasons the last two years
- Improved usage as a pass catcher as a junior and a senior

Con's:
- One-dimensional ball carrier. Give him a hole, he runs through it. Nothing else is guaranteed
- Distinct lack of patience in the backfield, and hits the LOS whether his blocks are ready or not
- Uncomfortable in zone running schemes where he needs to show timing on cutbacks
- Has no intention of avoiding contact
- Lack of short area and lateral agility further inhibits his evasiveness
- Ball security issues; too many fumbles every year in Morgantown
- Physical style doesn’t translate to pass protection, which needs more dedication
The Verdict:
“Leddie Brown has been synonymous with Mountaineer football for the last four years, being a key contributor to the WVU offense since he was a freshman. Strong and quick, when put in a favourable system Brown can be devastatingly effective, and teams that predominantly use power blocking concepts might be interested in his services as an RB2/3. But ultimately, his lack of creativity and fluidity limits his value, and his skillset isn’t diverse enough to stand out in a running back class with other more intriguing prospects. That being said, production counts for something, and I’d be shocked if he wasn’t given the opportunity to make a roster in training camp.”
