2022 NFL DRAFT PROSPECT REPORT

2021 Football Headshots: Jashaun Corbin

Use image #325

Film Watched: Florida 2021, Notre Dame 2021, Georgia Tech 2020

Pro's:

  • Powerful running back with an aggressive demeanour
  • Hits the line of scrimmage like a runaway freight train
  • Capable of breaking big plays, and can gallop away from linebackers
  • Low centre of gravity and strong base allows him to ride and/or bounce off contact effortlessly
  • Committed and effective in pass protection
  • Intelligent ball carrier that processes a developing picture quickly and adjusts accordingly
  • Special teams experience as a kick returner

Con's:

  • Strictly a downhill runner, who needs to operate in a gap or power scheme
  • Lack of nuance in run speed & doesn’t make tacklers think – full throttle on every rep
  • Stiff hips – sluggish in cuts and change of direction
  • Isn’t elusive – relies on speed and then power on contact to maximise yardage
  • Quick but not fast – won’t outrun defensive backs to landmarks
  • Inconsistent as a pass catcher; role grew in 2021, but awkward route running

The Verdict:

“Jashaun Corbin is another running back in this draft class that comes in with fresh legs and maybe a lot yet to prove. Blighted by injuries at Texas A&M, Corbin headed to Tallahassee and became the workhorse running back for The Seminoles in 2021. He proved he could handle the load too, but at the next level he projects much better as a short yardage, third down back who offers value as a bottom of the roster guy in pass pro and special teams contributions. His one-dimensional style won’t be for every team, but he certainly has a usable skillset at the next level and will find a home and a role on a roster.”
