- Tall with huge arms – a menace climbing the ladder and high pointing the football
- Some ludicrous catches on tape, hauling in passes almost in the stands and getting his feet down
- Blazing long speed, with smooth acceleration to ghost past DB’s who give him too much cushion
- Quick off the line and drives at the hip of his opponent, making them bail quicker than desired
- Has the foot quicks off the snap to avoid being jammed despite his large surface area
- Dangerous with the ball in his hand – led the FCS last year with nearly 24 yards per reception

- Plays smaller than he is on contested catches – really want to see him use that body against the DB
- Hands can be disrupted at the catch point by more physical defenders
- Ball tracking inconsistent, particularly on deeper passes over his shoulder
- Condensed playbook & route tree at Northern Iowa
- Relies on size to make sideline catches rather than opening up the pass window for his QB
- Curves his route running at the top
The Verdict:
“Here we are again with the FCS’ own version of the NFL production line. Northern Iowa sent Spencer Brown to the Bills last year and have at least three more prospects in 2021. Isaiah Weston is an Al Davis kinda player, with the measurables and athleticism you can only dream of finding on day three of the NFL Draft. He absolutely beat up on FCS defenses the last four years, using his size and length to torture opponents down the sidelines. Life will get harder for him at the next level as teams disrupt him off the snap, and he’s got to prove that he’s able to run crisper, sharper routes to work over the middle after being something of a one trick pony at UNI. A developmental prospect that will need the time to acclimate, Isaiah Weston has the things you cannot teach.”
