- A big dude with impressive muscle mass on his frame – durability should not be a problem
- Low centre of gravity. Isn’t slippery, but a nightmare to bring to the ground at full speed
- Unbreakable grip on the football – not a single fumble in 476 touches at Michigan
- Brings plus effort and consistency as a blocker, able to locate danger and willing to engage
Con's:
- A touch one-dimensional; will stay loyal to the playcall but shows little creativity when necessary
- Can build up a head of steam but wouldn’t be described as fast
- Rarely used as a receiver in college, and evidence suggests blocking is his role in the pass game
- Modest short-area agility; rarely jukes a defender out of their cleats
- Likely limited to an inside, power run game at the next level
The Verdict:
“Hassan Haskins is an intimidating sight to line up across from, and defenders know they’re in for a long day against him. He is a juggernaut with the football and will expose any half-hearted or poorly timed tackling with disdain and force. His discipline and technique will be reassuring to an offensive coordinator, knowing that he’ll stick to the playbook and eradicate the chance of turnovers and negative yardage. That being said, Haskins isn’t the complete package - he may need to come off the field on third down for a more explosive, varied alternative. Despite that, Haskins has enough to his game to avoid being just a first down bully or short yardage/goal line back - he can be a workhorse ball carrier with a long career ahead of him at the next level.”
