2022 NFL DRAFT PROSPECT REPORT

Uwazurike_Enyi20

Pro's:

  • Very long arms – over 35 inches
  • Consistently pushes guys back with a powerful bull rush
  • Great closing speed for his size
  • Showed the potential to have positional versatility – played EDGE and NT
  • Always gets a hand up when he doesn’t win his rush
  • Strong enough to not get moved off the ball by double teams
  • Consistently plays with an excellent pad level against the run

Con's:

  • Average get off – good enough to shoot gaps, not good enough to dominate purely off athleticism
  • Doesn’t win with a multitude of pass rush moves – mainly only a bull rush and rip
  • Hands can be inconsistent – sometimes opting to lead with his chest into blockers
  • Almost never disengages with blockers – opts to try to bull rush them rather than use a move
  • Looks like he’s running in mud laterally on stunts

The Verdict:

“Eyioma Uwazurike was a steady force on the Iowa State defensive line for the last 5 seasons. He has the ability to play all the spots on a 3-4 defensive line, and showed the ability to play them well. His explosiveness was on display at the combine, where he showcased a 33” vertical, however, that doesn’t fully translate to his jump off the snap. Where he wins is using his long arms and power to bench press OL back into the QBs lap. Whichever team decides to draft him will need to teach him some secondary pass rush moves, but all the tools are here for a 3 down 3T on the next level.”
