2022 NFL DRAFT PROSPECT REPORT

Dylan Parham

Film Watched: Houston 2021, Mississippi State 2021, Senior Bowl

Pro's:

  • Phenomenal athlete for an offensive lineman
  • Quick off the snap, glides across the turf, and reaches his marker ready for contact
  • Former tight end, & it shows in his short area agility – quick feet to mirror and counter rush moves
  • All the hip flexion and knee bend necessary to intercept dangers
  • Fair upper body strength considering the position transition; able to stalemate defenders at extension
  • Good, solid anchor that can absorb bull rushers momentum and stall their path to the backfield
  • Positional versatility – played both guard spots and had a season at right tackle for the Tigers
  • Competitive spirit allows him to compete with bigger opponents

Con's:

  • Undersized – has added some fair weight to his frame but would benefit from continuing that
  • Doesn’t have the power at the point of attack to drive defenders off the football
  • Speed to power rushes will catch him out if he doesn’t enter contact with perfect balance
  • Short set passing game at Memphis means limited experience as a true pass protector
  • Still learning the nuances of the position – exposes his numbers to opponents

The Verdict:

“Dylan Parham has taken to life as an offensive lineman so well you’d think he was playing it all his life. Undersized and lacking the desired play strength throughout his frame, Parham has developed every other aspect of his skillset to accommodate for any ground he gives up with his measurables. Parham’s best attribute is his movement, and as an interior pass protector you couldn’t really ask for much more. His intelligence and quicks would suggest a career at center is a possibility, further improving his versatility in the eyes of scouts. There’s no doubt going to a steep learning curve for Parham as he resets the standards he needs to hit in the NFL, but put him in a zone run scheme where his agility can shine in both aspects of the position, and you have yourself a future ten year starter at the heart of your offense.”
