- Easily manipulated out of his run fit, and isn’t able to affect lane choice
- Sure tackler, but not a powerful one. Doesn’t explode into contact
The Verdict:
“Something of an all-rounder, Baylon Spector enters the NFL Draft with little fanfare, much like he did when he arrived at Clemson. The Tigers coaching staff learned to appreciate the dedication and application Spector brought to the defense - a guy you can trust to do his job, Spector rarely let his teammates down. But if you’re looking for explosion or game-changing plays, then his portfolio is likely to disappoint. Spector’s power deficiency is likely to stand out more at the next level, and his home on an NFL field will be restricted to a 4-3 WILL linebacker where he can hopefully stay off blocks and relentlessly hunt the football. Spector tested well athletically which should help his cause, but his route to a professional paycheck is likely via special teams. High character, high effort - but a definite low ceiling.”
