Waxing Lyrical with Mainz and Dutts has been around for many years now, discussing the news of the day in the NFL, with a specific focus on the fantasy aspects and the impact of those news items.
In this week’s episode, the boys discuss the NFL News impacting fantasy football, Dutts’ drops his fantasy TE rankings – where Mainz questions the Kittle ranking– before they continue their divisional previews, this week with the AFC East:
This last week had a number of big news stories that affect fantasy, and Mainz and Dutts react to them. Firstly, there is the Cam Akers injury, and how that will affect the Rams. They then discuss Michael Thomas delaying surgery to rehab on the Saints’ time, and how that makes New Orleans a team to avoid in fantasy. Finally they talk DaVante Adams, and how his contract might break the Packers.
This week Dutts gives us his Top 10 for TEs. We highlight how the position has some steep tiers, but maybe there is some value if you look closely enough!
Rankings are:
10. Robert Tonyan
9. Logan Thomas
8. Tyler Higbee
7. Dallas Goedert
6. Kyle Pitts
5. Mark Andrews
4. George Kittle
3. TJ Hockenson
2. Darren Waller
The divisional preview is a staple for WLMD. The format this year is as follows:
Mainz’ Big Question
Dutts Fantasy Darling
More Likely to be discussed
The AFC East has changed at the top in recent years and Mainz and Dutts expect the Bills to still dominate. Question is can the Dolphins and Pats keep up? And can the Jets make strides in the right direction? Listen in to find out!
