Tech N9ne to headline Union Jack Classic Entertainment

Hip hop artist Tech N9ne, who has worked with legendary names such as Eminem and Lil Wayne, is known for his dynamic live performances and style. Born and raised in Kansas City, he will headline the entertainment at the Union Jack Classic, leading the tailgate celebrations and setting the tone for a full day of music, helping to create the up-beat college football atmosphere.

The KU Marching Jayhawks and Arizona Sun Devils Marching Band, plus both university’s spirit squads, the cheer and dance team, have also been confirmed to perform.

Hundreds of musical instruments have been shipped to the UK in preparation for the marching bands to perform during the event where they will create the traditional college football ambience at Wembley, that has never been seen before in the UK.

College American football marching bands are large student musical groups that perform synchronised movements and play music during pre-game and halftime shows, and they will perform in tandem with the spirit squads – who will hype the crowd with perform stunts and execute complex dance routines.  

Union Jack Classic has also announced the game day entertainment acts, which will commence with the pre-game tailgate through to the half-time show where fans will experience the spectacle of American college football game day.

Kicking off game day in style, Paige Blake will perform the U.S. National Anthem on her electric guitar, which will be the first time the anthem has been played on an electric guitar at Wembley Stadium.

Headlining the Union Jack Classic half-time show is a high energy performance by the B2wins, Walter and Wagner Caldas, described as the Twin Strings from Rio De Janeiro, who will perform their unique and uplifting renditions of crowd favourites played on the violin. The B2wins will be joined on field by the College Marching Bands for the half-time show, bringing a celebration of sport and culture for both existing fans and newcomers.

Tech N9ne will be joined by Oklahoma singer-songwriter Logan Mac, American producer and DJ Special Ed, and guitarist Paige Blake, extending the game-day programme beyond Wembley Stadium and into the pre-game celebrations.

Meanwhile, Deb Orah will be representing the UK, performing the British National Anthem before kick-off.

The Entertainment will begin before kick-off at a Union Jack Classic tailgate near Wembley Arena, where fans will be able to come together ahead of the game for live music, food & drink and college football traditions, including Fox’s BIG NOON KICK OFF.

On Friday night, Passyunk will host the Official Union Jack Classic Pre Game Party, featuring appearances by both marching bands and cheerleaders, plus a concert in the Waterloo Tunnel outside featuring Tech N9ne, the B2wins and DJ Special Ed.
