Who are the best Tight ends to target in 2025?
By Martin Richardson
Now that Part 1 is done, it is very clear that the TE position is one that needs a great deal of focus when it comes to Fantasy football. There are some potential sleepers lurking down those rankings, but it is a bit of a risk.
now we are in the Top 12 and even then there are some risks when you look at the names that have broken into this list.
Don’t be afraid to wait it out in your Fantasy draft, but if the right players lands on your lap, don’t hang about, make that move.
12. JAKE FERGUSON
We start Part 2 with someone who didn’t have a great 2024. In fact, Ferguson didn’t get a single touchdown last season so there must be an improvement this year now that everyone is back and healthy. George Pickens sits as a WR2 but other than CeeDee Lamb, there are not any other options in the pass catching game; so, Ferguson should get some chances to make an impact. I would argue that Ferguson is the second-best option for the Cowboys offense going into 2025 and for that reason he deserves to be on your radar as solid option to start in your Fantasy matchups.
11. Dallas Goedert
He was rumoured to be a trade candidate, but once the Eagles managed to get through the offseason without doing that to save some money or manage their cap, Goedert is one to keep an eye on. There is a big if when it comes to Goedert and that’s: if any one of those ball catchers goes down for a length of time, his stock will increase so much. They have great starters and very little depth, so he could be one to take a low risk move on if you’ve secured those premium positions early.
10. David njoku
Which QB will be throwing him the ball? That’s the big question for any and all Browns players in 2025. This makes Njoku a bit of a gamble. He was TE6 with Joe Flacco at the helm, but what will this offense look like when the Browns reach the dog days of the season? He is in a contract year at 29 and will no doubt want to be in people’s eye line given the Browns have indicated that he may not be back in 2026. Keep an eye on rookie Harold Fannin Jr who they drafted as someone who could take some reps from Njoku as the season goes on as he thrives on a screen pass, just like Njoku. There is a lot to keep an eye on going into 2025.

Mark Andrews really scored 11 TDs on 15 redzone targets last season

He is still a productive piece in the offense for the Ravens, for now. We all know that there is the heir apparent waiting in Baltimore to take the mantle of TE1 for Lamar Jackson and that is Isiah Likely. Andrews had a rough start to 2024 and people were thinking of dropping him in their Fantasy lineups. But he started getting those TDs and he averaged over 11 points per game in the second half of the season. You may have one more season of Andrews being a TE1 in fantasy; but when you need touchdowns and points in Fantasy football, is this a game you want to risk playing if you think he may be on a downward trajectory. Do you want to have to try and either scramble for Likely on waivers, or try and find someone else mid-season?
8. Colston Loveland
We have our highest rookie here for our TE ranking and it is with the intriguing Bears that Loveland landed. He gets Ben Johnson who unlocked and unleashed Sam LaPorta in his first season in the NFL, so there is chance that he gets a similar portion of the ball. There are only a few players to get the ball at the Bears: DJ Moore, Rome Odunze are the main ball catchers, so there is a chance that Loveland has massive upside when you think of his situation. There is Cole Kmet, but with no guaranteed money on his deal, he could be traded or released, or stay and do the dirty line work for Loveland to flourish.
7. Evan Engram
Now at the Broncos, Engram could be a solid pick up for you in your Fantasy draft. Sean Peyton didn’t have anyone like him last season and he loves getting the most out TEs in his offense. He has a big contract for a 30 year old, and he will get the ball given that there is only Courtland Sutton then Marvin Mimms and Pat Bryant (sleeper watch) to catch the ball, Engram will get chances to get you points.
6. TJ Hockenson
Now back and fully fit after that injury in 2023, Hockenson returns to an interesting situation. He has a new 1st round rookie QB making his debut in his ‘second’ year and will likely get the ball more now that Jordan Addison is probably suspended for a few games. Hockenson has an 8th round ADP, but when you see that he averaged 50 yards per game as he was returning after injury, he has some serious upside to be a mid round pickup. He can be dependable when it comes to either the Vikings or Fantasy football, but again there is a risk here that he may be part of a balanced attack rather than a volume based attack. Hockenson can be a fun TE as he will have zero blocking responsibilities with Josh Oliver doing the heavy lifting there.
5. Travis kelce
He comes that changing of the guard. Last season Kelce ranked 89th overall in fantasy points. He usually comes alive in the playoffs, but not Fantasy playoffs though. Which isn’t ideal for those who need a top TE1. With Rashee Rice’s potential suspension and Xavier Worthy has not really being what the Chiefs thought he would be yet, not forgetting Hollywood Brown either, there is a chance that the old tried and tested link with Mahomes will be used for one more solid season. Kelce is still a good outlet for Mahomes to get the ball over the line, just not those bigger 20+ gains. The decline is there. You just need to see how much of an impact that is going to have this year. He is outside the top 100 picks in fantasy at the moment. I think that is fair at this point in this career.
4. Sam laporta
I’ll admit it, I was one of those people who drafted LaPorta high last season, on to watch that disappointing second season unfold. As it transpired, he carried an injury through most weeks and ended up being the TE9 by the end of last season. In 2025, he has no Ben Johnon to help him get back to that record breaking set of performances. There is not a lot of depth on the catching side of things, so he will be involved in the offense in some way. Would you say he is an elite TE fantasy option? Maybe not given the way that our Top 3 play the game for Fantasy players. But he did it once before in his rookie season. Can he do it again, and is he worth the risk to be your top TE? History tells us he can.
3. George kittle
George Kittle's 500th career catch is nice one. He has 128 yards receiving tonight! #NationalTightEndsDay

Given the situation with the 49ers, George Kittle’s stock is going to rise and rise. Both Auiyuk and Persall are on the PUP list, and there is not Deebo. So if you have the chance to take Kittle, it’s an absolute no brainer. His ADP was the 5th round before the news of the WR pair, so expect that to rise as the weeks go on. His new contract also adds to the fact that he will get the ball a lot still even when those two are back playing and getting fitness. Let’s not forget that the one WR they do have now wants a new deal or to traded, so it makes sense to push for Kittle in your draft. This is a banker.
2. Trey mcbride
I think we could see the complete opposite of 2024 here with McBride. He had no touchdowns last season until week 17 but he did have the 5th most targets in the league in the Red Zone. There is no way that ends 2025 with the same single touchdown if that volume stays the same. At the moment, he is projected to go at the end of Fantasy round 2, but I think he creeps up as the off season progresses and people see those inevitable reports that show Marvin Harrison Jr as someone Murray can’t depend on yet, even if he is jacked. The Cardinals’ offense is the same as it was, so he will get the ball more and more in 2025. He is the full package when it comes to TE play. Get him in your team.
1. Brock Bowers
This can’t be a shock to anyone who has been paying attention. Throughout this TE list I’ve mentioned a changing of the guard and here it is. Brock Bowers is the number 1 tight end to take in 2025. I think a first round fantasy pick up for Bowers is a little rich for 2025, but he will certainly be there in 2026 if he carries on his fantastic rookie season form. He averaged over 10 points a game for TE after week 10 and ended the season as 52nd overall player in terms of Fantasy points amassed. That’s incredible for a rookie TE. That being said, if he can get more touchdowns in 2025 to match those yardage numbers, he will be the difference maker for the Raiders and Fantasy players across the land.
