3 Senior Bowl prospects that deserve more attention

By Jack Brentnall

The 2025 Senior Bowl kicks off in Mobile next week, giving us a chance to see NFL Draft prospects test themselves against one another.

This year’s roster is stacked with talented players at every position and the practices will be must-watch events for NFL Draft fans everywhere.

Here are three prospects who will be in Mobile that deserve to be getting more attention.

Jacob Parrish - CB, Kansas State (5-10, 198)

If there is one guy at the Senior Bowl who fits the description of “my guy” it is Jacob Parrish.

A two-way talent in high school who also played basketball and was a state champion in the 100 and 200 metres, Parrish was a three-star recruit in the 2022 class and committed to his home state Wildcats. After a rotational role as a freshman, he emerged as a starter in 2023 and became a key part of their defense.

What makes Parrish such an exciting NFL prospect is his well-rounded skillset. He is first and foremost an excellent coverage corner. Throughout his college career he allowed a passer rating of just 66.3, whilst producing five interceptions and 13 pass breakups. He played primarily on the boundary and looked comfortable playing man and zone coverage. In spite of his size he also had some really nice reps in press coverage too.

In addition to his coverage prowess, Parrish is also one of the better run defending defensive backs in the class, with the tenacity and tackling ability teams crave at the position.

All of this should put him in a great position to impress at the Senior Bowl. Don’t be surprised if he emerges as one of the week’s biggest winners.

Damien Martinez - RB, Miami (6-0, 232, Junior)

2025’s running back class looks like one of the best we’ve seen in recent years. One of the side effects of that is that some names that would otherwise be noteworthy talents, like Martinez, end up going under the radar.

Martinez has been consistently productive throughout his career. Beginning at Oregon State, he was voted the Pac-12 Offensive Freshman of the Year in 2022 and was a First Team All-Pac-12 member. He repeated that feat in 2023, before transferring to Miami for another excellent season alongside Cam Ward.

It is surprising that Martinez hasn’t earned more hype. After all, he is a 20-year old true junior who has been consistently productive throughout his college career. His tape is excellent and he shows NFL-ready vision and patience as a runner. His advanced metrics look good too, whether that is explosive run rate, first down rate, or forced missed tackle rate.

Martinez is not going to be the fastest back in the class and he is a little limited as a receiver, but when it comes to the vision, strength, and toughness you want at the position, he has them in abundance.

Ozzy Trapilo - OT, Boston College (6-8, 309, Graduate)

Watching the trench battles in Mobile is always one of the highlights of the week, and I will be keeping a close eye on Trapilo. The son of former Boston College All-American offensive lineman Steve Trapilo, he has been a three-year starter for the Eagles.

With experience at both left and right tackle and the size profile you want, Trapilo is an easy prospect to like. He was voted a Second Team All-ACC member in 2023 and was a First Team All-ACC selection in 2024. His tape is good too, showing the ability to anchor effectively against power, along with the hand strength to displace defenders at the point of attack.

The question with Trapilo as a prospect is his ability to operate effectively on an island and redirecting when challenged laterally. Seeing how he fares in the one-on-one battles down in Mobile will therefore be hugely valuable in projecting him as an NFL prospect.
