The Verdict:
“Hendon Hooker’s biggest battle throughout the pre-draft process will be convincing NFL teams an older QB who is recovering from serious injury is worth the investment. Lucky for him, the move to Tennessee paid dividends, and the tape is eye-catching before he blew out his left knee. The Vols were the pride of college football for a large amount of 2022, behind the arm of Hooker, who showed he could lead a high-powered offense. ‘Diligent’ is the best word to describe this quarterback, who is dedicated to his craft and will be a coaches’ dream. Yeah, there is something of a limited ceiling, but ultimately Hooker’s draft stock is capped by age and injury. At worst he’s a solid backup and he’ll appeal to a team with a quick-strike offense who has the luxury to be patient with him. I think he sneaks into day 2.”
