2022 NFL DRAFT PROSPECT REPORT

Clemons_Michael

Pro's:

  • Great Frame – Nearly 35” arms
  • Has room to add more weight and kick inside if that’s desired
  • Came up from Juco and got better year after year – He’s an older prospect, but he seemingly gets better every week
  • Can turn speed to a powerful bullrush in the blink of an eye – Just ask LSU’s RT
  • Has first round pick type flashes
  • Flashed the use of a very impressive spin counter – he was just abusing LSU

Con's:

  • Previous Off-field concerns
  • Inconsistent get off – ranges anywhere from jaw dropping to very bad
  • Potential Motor issues – I hate to say this, but for how dominant certain flashes are, he disappears for long stretches as well
  • Not very bendy – Still has the ability to win the edge, but better tackles will be able to take it away
  • Needs to come downhill, he isn’t and won’t be as effective as a stunter

The Verdict:

“Michael Clemons is a long and skinny pass rusher with top notch production as a redshirt senior. He has flashes on his tape that make you question why he isn’t being talked about as much as others, but the reason is because he disappears as much as he pops off the screen. Clemons has a fantastic frame, with room to add weight and kick inside to 3T. His long arms and powerful body will give him a chance to be a starter at some point in his career. His development has proven to be fairly linear to this point, so watch out for this guy in two or three seasons.”
