“A premier offensive tackle prospect, Ickey Ekwonu gained the starting job at left tackle as a freshman and never looked back. His progression from ‘violent monster’ to ‘violent monster with technique’ has been continuous and still isn’t quite finished, particularly in pass pro, but there is no doubting the raw measurables and mindset that he brings to the NFL. Minor inconsistencies in his game appear to be correctable, making Ekwonu a high floor prospect with room to get even better. A team leader and locker room galvaniser, he gives you almost everything you want from a blue chip prospect - and if he doesn’t hear his name called first overall, he won’t be waiting for long after that.”
