2022 NFL DRAFT PROSPECT REPORT

Greg Dulcich

Film Watched: Oregon 2021, LSU 2021, USC 2020

Pro's:

  • Linear, athletic receiving tight end with the speed to challenge defenses vertically
  • Sneaky speed makes him a threat at every level of the field
  • Can line up inline, in the slot or on the outside
  • Natural soft hands, coupled with a sizeable wingspan that makes him a big reliable target for the QB
  • Phenomenal tracker of the ball when in the air, with great timing to extend and pluck the ball
  • Playmaker with the ball in his hands; tough to track down in pursuit
  • Ignores disruptors at the line of scrimmage and gets into his route quickly

Con's:

  • Finds the going tough as an inline run blocker
  • Lack of lower leg drive to engage and move bodies to open up run lanes
  • Pass protection technique needs refinement; reaches for jersey and loses balance & leverage
  • Expect more crisp breaks as a route runner considering his speed and agility
  • Works hard to be an outlet when the play breaks down, but has a lack of feel for soft spots in coverage

The Verdict:

“As a pass-catching weapon, Greg Dulcich brings a lot to a league that craves game changers at the tight end position. Basically an oversized receiver, Dulcich fares best when he can attack coverage vertically, be that outside the numbers or in the slot. And if his burst and speed doesn’t cause the defender issues, his hands and body usage at the catch point sure will. A determined competitor who has eyes for paydirt, Dulcich will fight for every yard he can get. But his current lack of play strength and torque probably limits him to passing downs early in his career. As a prospect who worked hard to add body weight during his time at UCLA, it’s fair to assume he’ll maintain the dedication to his body development at the next level. Until then he won’t be your classic inline tight end, but at the very least you have a TE2 who will force the opposition to account for him.”
