2022 NFL DRAFT PROSPECT REPORT

McFadden_Micah_777

Pro's:

  • Very very good production over 3 seasons
  • Has good ball production in coverage – 4 INTs 4 PBUs in his career
  • Was PFF’s highest graded LB on pass rushes
  • Is a very sure tackler – plays through opponents midsections well
  • Does a good job firing through lanes left open to make big plays

Con's:

  • Undersized with short arms
  • Struggles to handle blockers coming downhill at him
  • Doesn’t appear to be very fast
  • His range is very limited
  • Doesn’t possess the tools to be able to be a TE eraser, or to cover SlWRs
  • Isn’t a super physical player, chooses to dance with OL instead of just blowing them up.

The Verdict:

“Micah McFadden is the exact person I picture when I think of a linebacker. He is absolutely jacked! Not only that, he is a playmaker too. McFadden does a fantastic job of knifing his way through gaps to blow up plays as they start. A majority of places he struggles is due to his length. He has just over 31” arms, which are rather short for the position. His speed, range, and short area quickness have room for improvement as well. He will likely be able to carve out a role from day one, it will just have to start on special teams.”
